The European Commission announced that the updated EU driving license rules came into force on November 25, 2025. Their application requires transition periods and transposition of provisions into national legislation.
The reform affects, in particular, individual vehicles weighing up to 4.25 tons, alternative fuel vehicles and motorhomes. Different categories have their own conditions and transition periods, and in some cases, requirements for driver training or experience.
