Officers of the Central Bureau of Police Investigation detained a 25-year-old citizen of Ukraine (Ukraina) in Warsaw (Warszawa). Romanian authorities were seeking him under a European Arrest Warrant in a case concerning the alleged preparation of sabotage.
The investigation concerns a fire on 14 September 2026 at the CARFIL industrial site in Brașov (Braszów), near defence industry facilities. Investigators are examining the detained man's alleged role in preparing the arson attack.
Any subsequent surrender to the requesting country follows the established judicial procedure. Detention under a warrant is not a conviction. Allegations concerning involvement in sabotage and possible connections to other people remain part of the investigators' case.
