On October 12–13, the Border Guard conducted more than 1400 checks on the legality of foreign nationals’ stays. Almost 600 officers took part in the operation; reports mention more than 80 people detained and more than 60 proceedings initiated concerning an obligation to return.

During the checks, the citizenship and circumstances of each person’s stay were taken into account. This information cannot be automatically converted into the number of violators or those already expelled: verification does not mean detention, and the start of proceedings does not mean an executed decision on return.
