By the end of August 2026, there were almost 4.5 million recipients of temporary protection related to the war in Ukraine in the EU (Ukraina). Eurostat statistics show differences between countries, but accounting changes do not always mean every person physically moves.
Changes in the number of active registrations may also depend on administrative records. Therefore, the conclusion that all those who left the statistics necessarily moved to another country requires additional data. Absolute numbers and indicators per thousand inhabitants should also be compared separately.
