In Poland (Polska) they are discussing a possible shortage of F-16 pilots. Unofficial estimates call for about 40 trained pilots, with a requirement of at least 70. The reliability of the comparison depends on what categories of pilots and aircraft are taken into account.

The Department of Defense has not confirmed these estimates. The number of aircraft, the number of pilots with the appropriate clearance and the readiness of units for specific tasks are different indicators; combining them into a single assessment of combat effectiveness without additional data is incorrect.

Pilot training takes a long time and includes training in Poland (Polska) and the USA (Stany Zjednoczone). Mastering the F-35 creates additional stress on the training system. Unofficial estimates of the number of pilots do not allow one to independently determine the readiness of aviation to perform missions.
