On October 26, President Vladimir Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada projects on the extension of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine (Ukraina). The proposed extension period is until January 29, 2027. Submitting projects does not mean the completion of their consideration.
Such decisions undergo parliamentary consideration: first, the documents are studied by a relevant committee, after which deputies vote for them. Therefore, the wording on the introduction of projects should be distinguished from the message on their final acceptance.
On October 27, the official portal of the Verkhovna Rada reported that the relevant committee was considering the issues of extending martial law and mobilization. The current legal status and deadlines must be determined by the finally adopted and published act.
