The Ministry of Internal Affairs has prepared changes that should allow you to indicate when applying for dowód osobisty the institution to receive the finished document. Now the applicant usually has to return to where he applied.
The expected launch date is December 1, 2026 after being postponed from July. Before contacting, you should clarify the current procedure in the selected agency: the message about the preparation of changes does not replace the official instructions. Dowód osobisty is intended for Polish citizens; it should not be confused with the foreigner's residence card.
