Use a current bulletin and local weather

NOAA SWPC’s bulletin issued on 1 November 2026 at 00:30 UTC allows for a G1 geomagnetic storm that day. It forecasts magnetic-field activity rather than promising that an aurora will be visible in Poland.

Dates from earlier forecasts cannot simply be carried forward to another night. The verified three-day bulletin also does not substantiate a specific promise for 9 November. NOAA is the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, not an astronomical observatory.

Visibility depends on the auroral oval, darkness, clouds and an unobstructed northern horizon. Check NOAA’s current map and the local weather before travelling. An increase in Kp alone does not determine visibility from a particular location.
