Vehicle handed over to police
On 29 October 2026, border officers stopped a Seat with Polish plates in Kostrzyn nad Odrą. The Border Guard says the vehicle had been stolen in Germany a few days earlier and was valued at about PLN 65 thousand.
The driver was a 52-year-old Ukrainian citizen. Testing indicated nearly 2 per mille alcohol. He said he was to deliver the vehicle for PLN 500; this is his explanation, not proof that he received payment.
Police took over the driver and vehicle. Suspicions concern handling stolen property, using plates assigned to another vehicle and drink-driving. The statement does not establish who stole the car and is not a conviction.
