What investigators have reported
In a statement dated 30 October 2026, Lower Silesian police described the arrest of a 55-year-old Russian citizen in Świdnica. Investigators allege that he photographed trains and infrastructure intending to pass material to a foreign intelligence service.
Police reported seizing equipment and examining files with prosecutors and the Wrocław cybercrime unit, CBZC. These are investigators’ assertions; the newsroom has not independently established the purpose of every photograph.
The man was charged under Article 130 § 1 of Poland’s Criminal Code and remanded for 3 months. Arrest and charges do not establish guilt; the final determination belongs to the court.
